Education City Tram
Streetcar Education City
The Education City tramway, launched by Qatar Foundation (QF) in 2019, is a sustainable transportation system that runs on electricity. It has been designed to carry passengers through Qatar Foundation’s ‘Academic Loop’ and beyond, serving locations such as Oxygen Park, Green Spine and other areas of interest within the educational city.

The 3 Education City Tram lines
The Education City tramway currently covers three lines:
- Line 1: Yellow
- Line 2: Blue (Academic loop)
- Line 3: Green
This tramway system facilitates car-free connections and allows parking and park-and-ride between schools, universities, centers and other Qatar Foundation facilities.

What are the streetcar timetables?
- Weekdays: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Weekends: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Education City Tram safety rules
Here is a summary of important rules and information for Education City streetcar passengers:
- Children : Children under 12 are not allowed to travel alone and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Transport of bicycles, strollers and mobility devices: Foldable personal mobility devices are allowed, and wheelchairs have two dedicated spaces on each tramway. Passengers are responsible for their own equipment and must take care not to hinder or injure other passengers.
- Luggage and personal effects : Passengers are responsible for their baggage and must ensure that it does not interfere with other passengers or emergency exits.
- Transporting animals: Small animals must be transported in a suitable container or cage. Guide or assistance dogs are allowed.
- Lost and found: Lost property must be handed in to an authorized representative or reported to the QF security control room at 4454 1086.
- In the event of illness, accidents or claims: Report any problems immediately to an authorized representative or call 4454 0999. For complaints, send an e-mail to info@qf.org.qa.
- Filming and photography: Qatar Foundation’s consent is required for commercial use. For personal use, respect for others and their permission are required.
- Passenger driving :
- Do not distract the streetcar driver.
- Wait for passengers to disembark before boarding.
- Avoid obscene, threatening or offensive language.
- Do not distribute advertising material or sell products.
- Do not block automatic doors.
- No smoking, carrying or throwing of flammable objects.
- Don’t spit on streetcars or premises.
- Dispose of waste only in the garbage cans provided.
- Do not carry firearms, dangerous tools, fireworks, flammable or toxic substances.
- Service and opening hours :
- Services are provided according to the published schedule, but are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
- Fines :
- Failure to comply with the rules may result in fines, and passengers may be removed from the streetcar or banned from travelling.
